Airplay can be used to cast content from your Apple device to your AppleTV. This is a great option if you like watching videos on a larger screen or on a device with better sound quality.

Airplay is compatible with the following devices;

  • Apple TV HD (4th generation) or Apple TV 4K (5th generation)

  • Smart TV with AirPlay2 built-in

To Use Airplay:

1: Make sure the Airplay device is on and connected to WiFi.

2: Connect your iOS device to the same WiFi.

3: Open the app and play video. Tap the AirPlay icon, then Choose Device.

To stop streaming, simply tap on the TV icon from within the app then tap your Apple device to remove it from the list.

NOTE: If your TV is not an Apple TV, you can check to see if it is an AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.

Click here for a list of TVs that are compatible with AirPlay 2.

If you don't see the TV icon, this could mean one or all of the following;

  • There are no devices available to connect to

  • AirPlay device is not turned ON or is not nearby.

  • AirPlay and mobile device are not connected to the same WiFi
